Let's build some of our best memories together, girls

Honey drops,
I’ve been missing out on updating so many magic moments, thoughts & dreams here, simply because I am often looking for the perfect half hour slot when my eternally full hands are somewhat free to do justice to all the gushing thoughts that rip my consumed-by-the-awesomeness-of-motherhood mind all the time, peeking left & right as they rush past, looking for a vent to make their mark on paper & be preserved safely for posterity. It has finally struck me that the desire to pen down that perfectly worded post, which would need atleast half hour to be set aside, is precisely what is robbing this space of all the richness that it truly deserves. I try to wordsmith so much & capture every teeny weeny detail I want to, that I often see it as a gargantuan half-hour task & end up not posting anything at all. So here’s a resolution: I’ll start updating this space far more often, though not with quality writing…coz after all, the objective is to preserve memories, not to show off writing skills. So 10 min posts they’re going to be, but hopefully something that you’d love to read when you girlies are old enough to savor& digest sweetmeats such as these.
One nice outing we had this week was to Hamsah Organic Farm off Sarjapur road. Although the drive was a long one, especially given that it was in the hot afternoon summer sun, it was well worth it. Mango picking was fun. More so, climbing some wooden tent-like contraptions that John had put up on his farm. Wondering what inspired this guy to come down from the Us, leaving behind a presumably materially better life & take to farming in India, & that too no exotic farm – just the usual mangoes, chikoos & the like.

The next day was occupied with the usual pool date. Splashing around & teaching you how to swim have been so much fun, sweetum. I do think I am a fun mommy – carrying bath toys (mother duck with her three babies, three fish & a bucket), throwing them around the pool to ‘swim’ & asking you to pick em all up. Dropping a steel thing & asking you to hunt for it at the bottom of the pool (not that you like it very much). We’ve also done our leg beating, kickboarding, pool dances (ring-a-ring with other random kids who visit the pool) et al. Can’t wait for your lil sis to join us at the pool.
& you, lil sis, I must mention that I love you, love your smile, love the way you thoroughly enjoy being cuddled, love the way you long for more cuddles, love the way you hunt for me with your eyes & mouth. You’ve been a breeze to manage, especially since I had a tough time with the previous pregnancy & post-delivery phases. I am so much better this time around (touch wood) & am able to do so much more for you – from nursing for a longer time to carrying you around to traveling to WFH for longer. Blessed girl! Yet, I am almost always consumed by a strange guilt that I am not able to do as much for you as I did for your older sis, in terms of stimulating engagement. She had undivided attention after all! Hopefully, I’ll get over this human tendency of comparing endlessly & just enjoy my two lil blessings for what they individually are. If at any point in time in future, I continue to compare the two of you, cut me short please. That’s a huge favour you will be doing, I promise. It’s one of those things I don’t WANT to do but end up doing now n then.

Alright, that’s it for now. Gnite, sleep tight, kissie, huggie.
