No loss, no gain

Today is one of those days when my idle mind is experiencing a self-administered overdose of vague, cynical philosophy on a sleepless midnight. The devil in the idle mind thinks:

Life is pretty much like the stock market: When you invest time/effort/emotions or anything that means something to you, just as you invest money in a stock market, you may gain/lose possession of knowledge/money/people/repute, just as you gain/lose possession of your stocks in the stock market.

However one big difference between life as a birth-to-death game and the stock market as an entry-to-exit game is: There is a net gain/loss of money that you make in the stock market between the time you begin to build your portfolio of stocks and the time when you wind up your trading and sell out all your stocks. In life, however, there's no net gain/loss of ANYTHING at all...because, no matter how much knowledge/money/people/repute you win/lose between your birth and death, the truth - the blatant truth remains that you brought nothing with you when you were born into this world, you're gonna take nothing upon your demise - so there's ZERO net gain/net loss. Safer game compared to the stock market, I say!

[Harish]:There's the Mitti way of boring you to death...and then there is the Seema way :)
[Arjun]: 200%...I swear...Even the doctor certified so!

You're not boring us to death. Don't mistake our asking. It's just you're saying all this deeply contemplative and philosophical stuff suddenly. It's like watching Ingmar Bergman films one after the other.

hello chutki..

well i think stock market is better that life, coz in stock market u can atleast predict next move of the stock by there FUNDAMENATLS and EPS AND PE....but in life u can never predict what is going to happen in next moment....

Creating portfolio in life is much tough than in stock market..here u loose money and there we loose life..

Hmmm as they say its all about the journey and not about the destination.

But I do feel, our lives have some purpose, and only if we live upto that do we become a sort of higher form of energy. Guess this is getting as philosophical as ure blog haha.

No two days of one's life is the same. It's not enough to just say that, or blog about that... we need to realise internally and also expect that on a day-to-day basis.

One, try to take life (meaning the issues) on a day to day, or if one is so busy, on an session to session basis.

Two, try to structure solutions on a medium-term or long-term basis. Rarely, should one think short-term.

Three, always look for things that cheer us up.

There is another important difference between a stock market and life. Stock market is after all an institution created by man. But life is somthing divine, its god given. Its infinitely more precious and significant than stock markets.

Sorry, I could not resist making this comment.

Life ain't a game, it's a function.

In a game you have "Winners" & "Losers."
In life, everyone "Ties," within the belly of a wrom.

Chill, it's no question of faith! There are too many more interesting things happening in life right now.It doesn't give me enough time and motivation to blog. I sure will get back to a new start, sometime around the new year :) Peromiiiise
